Super Rugby Strength Project
This project identified which strength qualities most strongly underpin elite performance in a professional Super Rugby environment. It involved developing new upper-body isometric assessments, consolidating diverse strength–power measures into clear dimensions, and linking these to on-field KPIs. The work also established strength profiles that distinguish professional from sub-elite players, helping to guide targeted physical preparation.


National Institute Strength Assessment Implementation
This project focused on embedding validated strength assessment systems within a national institute of sport. It included an audit of existing methods, limitations, and opportunities across both domestic and international programs to inform future practice and research. The project also established new isometric and dynamic testing and analysis procedures, exploring how specific strength adaptations transfer to sport performance.


Force Platform Metric Reduction Project
In collaboration with a major sports technology company, this project explored whether force platform metrics could be reduced without losing critical diagnostic information. It identified the key domains of lower-body strength that capture the majority of meaningful variance, offering a framework for efficient, evidence-based athlete assessment and more streamlined data collection practices.


Resistance Training Quantification Project
This work established valid and reliable methods for quantifying resistance training in a high-performance institute setting. It examined how various load measures relate to fatigue and adaptation, identifying those most strongly linked to meaningful changes in strength attributes. The outcomes provide a foundation for more precise monitoring and prescription of resistance training in elite sport.
